ADVANTAGES OF SCHOOL LOCATION
The Training Center is situated in Jägerstraße, in the city district 'Mitte', directly in the heart of Berlin. Jägerstraße crosses Friedrichstraße - one of the most well-known streets of Berlin. The Training Center is next to the underground station Französische Straße, in Jägerstraße 64. The building is situated in a quiet courtyard, and can be reached through the entrance gate in Jägerstraße 63a. All districts of the city are well within reach, because of the central location and good connection by public transport.
The Berlin Training Center is located near Checkpoint Charlie. Numerous legends and agent stories are told about Checkpoint Charlie. The former border crossing point between East and West Berlin was the place where Soviet and American tanks stood face to face, after the construction of the Wall in 1961. From 1961 to 1990, Checkpoint Charlie in the Friedrichstraße, was the only border crossing point for the Allies, foreigners, employees of the Permanent Representation and officials of the GDR. Today, the checkpoint is commemorated by a border sign and a soldier's post. The museum Haus am Checkpoint Charlie tells the history of the Wall.
At the same time, the Carl Duisberg Training Center is only a 5 minute walk away from Berlin's most famous boulevard 'Unter den Linden'. The Gendarmenmarkt is also only a short walk away and is always inviting for those who want to breathe in the proverbial 'Berlin air'. In the vicinity of the Carl Duisberg Training Center you will find historical sites as well as a lot of new stores, movie theaters and other leisure places to spend your time.
