The palette of local and regional cultural offerings and leisure activities is colorful and offers something for every taste and interest: art and cultural events, exhibitions and buildings of note, varied sports and leisure activities.
More than half of the 108-square-mile Dortmund city area consists of forests, fields and spacious park facilities. These green surroundings beckon visitors to go on strolls, bike trips, horseback rides, canoeing tours, to go fishing or gliding.
Our tutors organize a new cultural and leisure program each month for the participants in German courses in the Carl Duisberg Training Center Dortmund. These offerings include: Exploring Dortmund, excursions to the surroundings nearby, not to mention to Paris, Amsterdam, Cologne, Hamburg or Berlin.
A visit to DASA, a game of soccer, a canoe trip down the Ruhr River, a concert outing in the (the Dortmund concert hall), bowling, sledding in the Sauerland region, a visit to the four medieval churches in downtown Dortmund, a trip to the countryside to take in the fresh air in Westfalenpark, Rombergpark (with orchids building), zoo, Fredenbaumpark or to Grävingholz, strolling through the Christmas fairs, an excursion to the moated castles and palaces of the Münsterland region, a visit to a home game of the local Borussia Dortmund professional soccer team in Signal-Iduna-Arena (a FIFA World Cup Soccer Stadium in 2006), a dive into the world of Warner Bros. Movie World, or traveling along the Route of the Industrial Heritage on bike or by bus or streetcar, or a trip to the World Cultural Heritage Zollverein Mine – with us, you can experience all of these attractions.
