THE SCHOOL Escuela Montalbán is a member of TANDEM International. TANDEM Spain has further schools in San Sebastián, Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia and Cádiz. Our school offers the programme - Spanish in Spain - in collaboration with the other TANDEM schools in Spain. Students can study Spanish in Granada for 1, 2 or more weeks and then continue learning in one of our partner schools . FACILITIES The school is located in Granada city centre and has: 6 classrooms; courtyard; office, library, videolibrary, teachers room; multimedia room with free Internet / WIFI. Holidays without Spanish classes 01 January, 28 February - 21 March - 1 May - 22 May - 15 August - 8 December - 25 December; 1 January 2009. There are no Spanish classes on national and local holidays. These classes are not recoverable, except in the case of 1 week Spanish courses and Individual Spanish courses.

Private Accommodation - Category I
Single and double rooms in shared flats with Spanish residents; normally young couples or people living alone. Students share kitchen, bathroom and communal areas.
Private Accommodation - Category II
These are shared flats with other students from the school. The flats have 2 or more single and double rooms. Students share kitchen, bathroom and communal areas.
Host family
We recommend this accommodation option for younger students or those who do not wish to cook for themselves. Accommodation includes breakfast and half or full board.
Student Residence
The Student Residence with single and double rooms is located in the heart of the city. Accommodation includes breakfast and half or full board. Availability is limited during university teaching periods from October to June.

• Private Accommodations (Category I/II) are reserved weekly. Students check in on Sundays before the course begins and check out at 12.00 h on Saturdays, at the end of their course. Bookings for extra nights are possible. The fee for additional nights is 25 € in a single room and 20 € per person in a double room.
• Students are expected to share all household chores whilst staying in Private Accommodations (Category I/II). In the case of host families and the Student Residence, a cleaning service is provided.
• All types of accommodation include a weekly laundry service; bed linen is provided, but not towels.
• Services are also included (electricity, water and gas).
• In the case of Private Accommodation / Category I, host families and the Student Residence, double rooms are reserved for 2 people travelling together.

In the afternoons and evenings we offer a variety of regular activities including the following:

• Conferences concerning present-day topics of interest, Moorish culture and Federico García Lorca (included in the course fee).
• Film sessions dedicated to particular Spanish directors (included in the course fee).
• Visits to the Arabic bath Aljibe de San Miguel (25 €)
• Theatre and Flamenco concerts (entrance fee is not included).
• Guided tour to the Alhambra (20 €)
• Visit of the old Moorish quarter of the Albaicín (10 €).
• Trekking in Sierra Nevada (included in the course fee).
• Horse-riding in the Sierra Nevada (1 afternoon: 27 €).
• Praktical cooking course to learn about Mediterranean cuisine (1 evening + dinner: 15 €).
• Flamenco dance course (6 hours per week: 100 €).
• Every weekend we offer interesting travel options of between one or several days in Andalusia, including tours to Seville, Córdoba, Ronda, the Alpujarras and different nature parks. For those who wish, there is also a 3 day trip to Morocco (from 42 € to 187 € per tour).
