THE SCHOOL
Our school is the oldest language school in Cambridge with over 50 years of experience. During this time we have built up a relationship with agencies and students around the world which means the majority of our students come to us via a personal recommendation. We are also a private language school meaning all our staff are on site; this allows for a more personal touch as we all work together to ensure each student enjoys their stay with us and is taught a good level of English.
FACILITIES
Our beautiful Victorian buildings house our many classrooms in our main school; there is also Wi-fi wireless internet access in our main building, with 18 computers for student’s access as well. Our learning centre contains not only these computers but also a selection of reading material for students such as novels, textbooks and exam preparation material.

AVERAGE NUMBER OF STUDENTS
During the summer the average number of students in any given week at our adult centre is around 330; during the rest of the year this number is around 200. We also have 4 Young Learner camps; two are in Cambridge and these average around 300 and 250 students respectively.

We cater for all levels from Beginner through to Advanced throughout the entire year. Our adult courses run all year round enrolling new students every Monday.

NATIONALITY BREAKUP
This changes week by week and year by year. We do often have larger groups of Italians, Spanish, Japanese and French, but mostly we try and make sure there is an even spread of Nationalities so that students are encouraged to speak English.

DO STUDENTS KEEP PROVIDED MATERIAL?
For EFL 20 and 28 students are provided with material, such as worksheets that they can keep. For the exam courses students may often have to buy the workbook themselves.
IS AIRPORT PICKUP OFFERED?
We offer private transfers from the following airports at additional cost on adult courses. Transfers are included in our Young Learner packages

For 2008 our bank holidays are 21/24 March, 5/26 May, 25 August. We are only closed for 2 weeks over the Christmas period. |

Homestay Accommodation offers a single room in a family home, with shared living facilities. Costs include morning and evening meals Monday to Friday and all meals at the weekend. We have three different levels of Homestay accommodation:
3* Homestay – provides a good, clean standard of accommodation.
4* Homestay – provides the above but of a higher standard, perhaps in a larger home.
5* Homestay – provides the above but in a large house and often with a private bathroom. This is executive standard accommodation.
The prices are as follows:
3* Homestay: 120 GBP per week
4* Homestay: 150 GBP per week
5* Homestay: 230 GBP per week
Price also includes our Student Life fee. This includes a varied social activity program, insurance, a student identification card (if required) and a 24 hour emergency contact number. Students also have the full welfare support of our staff. If you choose not to use our accommodation you should deduct 90 GBP from the accommodation cost as students will still need to pay the Student Life fee.
